In order to group them all into one thread

2 Name: へゆりの住人(´・ω・`) : 2025/03/31 21:25

Some frames menu links are using "http", which causes them not to work on "https"

3 Name: !GtPDBWCI.2 : 2025/03/31 21:30

Should be better now.

4 Name: へゆりの住人(´・ω・`) : 2025/03/31 21:43

Uploader link doesn't work on frames menu for some reason

5 Name: Nameless : 2025/03/31 22:49

Works for me. What browser are you using?

6 Name: miredo : 2025/03/31 22:56

different guy here, but I'm using Firefox and having the problem
I can't remember what setting you need to change, I know Firefox added some security policy thing when it comes to frames

7 Name: Nameless : 2025/03/31 23:12

miredo, bless us with your art

After posting a reply on Lounge I got an error :
"This page contains the following errors:
error on line 3 at column 1944: Premature end of data in tag body line 1
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error."

9 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/01 02:01

It does that sometimes but I don't really know the cause of it. It just did it to me but it fixed after I tried it again. I'll be looking into it.

10 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/01 02:14

Maybe it's because I put an aa too big without using“aa” in the email field?
And also when I try to make an oekaki, it tells me that I don't have the permission
Anyway it's really cool that world2ch is back! I love textboards so I'll be coming here often

11 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/01 02:47

(I think?) the problem is fixed now, it was related to footers, "aa" would only effect the aa itself. I'm not sure about oekaki, is that all the error said?

12 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/01 03:13

https://files.catbox.moe/zjgei1.png
I've taken a screenshot
It does this when I try to make one

13 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/01 03:21

I've noticed that you cannot open a thread on oekaki while using frames, they must be related. Until it is fixed, the bbsmenu will open oekaki in a new tab. I hope the oekaki is not lost.

14 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/01 08:41

19 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/03 05:23

20 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/04 00:57

tried to upload a swf to the uploader and it just didn't work (´~`)
got connection reset errors, and then on subsequent attempts, it would just say "please select a file" even though I did

21 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/04 01:15

The "please select a file" problem is supposed to be fixed and it works for me. I don't know about the connection reset error. What browser are you using so I can test it?

22 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/04 01:45

Also, try it with and without frames, and try another browser in the mean time if that fails.

23 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/07 20:13

cp....

24 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/07 20:26

fukken ̶s̶a̶v̶e̶d̶!̶ deleted!

25 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/08 03:43

The uploader problem happens when you try to upload any large file. I will attempt to fix it tomorrow

26 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/09 03:50

Nevermind I don't know what the problem is.

27 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/13 07:26

I had the same problem with my textboard that I started to code

As soon as you put a file over 1mo it freezes the page and when it's over 10mb it makes it impossible to post at all.

Honestly I don't know how to fix it rn..

28 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/13 15:00

Could it be a RAM issue?

29 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/13 15:59

Maybe...I only have 1024mb of ram on my server because I wanted to take the cheapest one to start with

I don't know if this is the case for world2ch too
but if so, that may be the reason

30 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/14 04:13

I guess if you need to upload a file that causes an error on uploader@w2ch you can use http://dec.2chan.net/up/ (and it's free space!)

31 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/15 23:32

I've noticed several bugs that I must fix

32 Name: MachDiamond : 2025/04/17 09:21

I have a problem with the current iframe system. It makes bookmarking the boards very difficult. I'm actually writing my own BBS that also used iframes and already had a planned solution to this, though I hadn't actually written it yet.
If I write you a Javascript file that updates the URL so you can bookmark the boards/thread, would you implement it?

33 Name: MachDiamond : 2025/04/17 09:36

By the ways, multiple links in the "What's World2ch?" page (I think all of them but I haven't checked) direct to archive.org links, but they don't actually have the website portion of the href, so they just direct to something like world2ch.net/web/20031002194640/http://world2ch.net/entrance/index.html.

34 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/17 17:39

The mobile site does not load any HTML outside of the title. You probably shouldn't have that redirect if it's not ready yet.

35 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/18 05:44

Note that quotes are not working currently, sorry.

>I have a problem with the current iframe system. It makes bookmarking the boards very difficult. I'm actually writing my own BBS that also used iframes and already had a planned solution to this, though I hadn't actually written it yet.

The frames are very simplistic. Bookmarking world2ch.net/world2ch.html would work wouldn't it? Maybe I don't understand the problem

>If I write you a Javascript file that updates the URL so you can bookmark the boards/thread, would you implement it?

Maybe, I don't know if a lot of javascript would fit the site. We have some other things that need writ(some in javascript) if you're interested.

>The mobile site does not load any HTML outside of the title. You probably shouldn't have that redirect if it's not ready yet.

I certainly don't know anything about configuring things for mobile use. Attempt use on a DS aswell.

36 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/18 07:09

>iframes

So, the problem with iframes is that the master webpage that hosts them is the only one that the browser "sees". Let's say I want to bookmark the read all page of this thread for whatever reason(the threads are slow enough that this could reasonably matter.)
Well, I can't. The browser only really sees the /world2ch.html page, and so any attempts to bookmark would ONLY bookmark /world2ch.html, which isn't the read all page. That's just the webpage hosting the iframes, and will load the homepage.
There is a workaround that doesn't require JS at the moment. The problem with that workaround is that the navigation won't load because it's not a part of the original webpage that you bookmarked. It's also just not convenient to hit "open link in new tab" every time I want to bookmark something.
I actually made something today that solves both of these problems, but I'm not happy with it in its current state and already have a better one in mind that I'm starting to work on.

>I don't know if a lot of JS would fit the site

Well, let me finish my new iteration that shouldn't be 6 kilobytes in size, and then you can review it to see if you want to put it on the site or not. If you're interested in the older but already functional script, I can send it, but I would not use it on the site personally.
I am interested in helping out, but it's probably not wise to just blindly trust a random guy offering a JS file that's meant to fix a pet peeve :P
Let me acclimate to the site first, since I did kind of just show up yesterday(and made the cardinal error of already naming myself in my very first post.)

>Attempt use on a DS aswell.

I request clarification, what do you mean by "attempt use on a DS as well?"

37 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/18 18:14

Alright, I'll consider it.

>I am interested in helping out, but it's probably not wise to just blindly trust a random guy offering a JS file that's meant to fix a pet peeve :P

I probably have used your site before. I was going to start an irc channel for bans and to look for a dev anyways, so we can discuss the js on #world2ch at rizon if you'd like.

>I request clarification, what do you mean by "attempt use on a DS as well?"

Saying you should try it on the nintendo DS. There is no reason to actually do this.

38 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/18 18:44

I have finished writing the script for you. You can look at it in this zip file. The only difference between Updater.js and Updater - Stripped.js is that one is stripped of comments, so that you can see how small the script is without all of my documentation.
https://world2ch.net/uploader/src/019.zip

39 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/18 18:45

Oh, also you probably have not used my site before. I haven't actually written my image board and haven't published any sites under my MachDiamond name yet.

40 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/18 19:13

In 2 clicks, I managed to open the thread in a separate window that lets me bookmark it
And you're also confusing iframe with frames (frameset)

41 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/18 19:18

>>40
Because modern Chrome doesn't even keep frames(or framesets for that matter) in the DOM, I just use "frame" as shorthand for "iframe" these days.
Also,

>There is a workaround that doesn't require JS at the moment. The problem with that workaround is that the navigation won't load because it's not a part of the original webpage that you bookmarked. It's also just not convenient to hit "open link in new tab" every time I want to bookmark something.

I was aware of the two-clicks to open a new tab workaround, and I expressed how I was discontent with that workaround.

42 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/18 22:55

I'd like to revise my statement about modern Chrome purging framesets, I've evidently been using frameset wrong for a while now.
None the less, thankfully my script still works even with my stupidity with Chrome.

Links that lead off of world2ch.net should probably be opened as a target="_blank" or target="_top".

43 Name: Tsubo-D : 2025/04/19 23:52

For some reason on the imageboard, I managed to double-post, one without an image, the other with an image. I'm guessing it's another case of modern Chrome bullshit.

44 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/20 00:44

It omits files sometimes. It'll be fixed eventually

45 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/20 03:42

The nav bar oekaki link opens in a different window, but the imgboard link doesn't attempt to.

46 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/20 03:55

Clarification: I meant the oekaki navigation link on the imgboard.

47 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/20 14:52

It's because the oekaki didn't work from the frames

48 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/20 18:12

The oekaki is written in PHP right? I think I could fix that. It's because of a X-Frame-Options response.

49 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/20 23:14

You're welcome to try, the source is just potiboard

50 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/23 00:30

When I click on “All discussions”, an error occurs
I made a screenshot : https://files.catbox.moe/wj5hk3.png

51 Name: Nameless : 2025/04/23 04:11

I tried to fix it a week ago but had to go somewhere. I'll try to fix it.
Does it not show the XML error for you? I can't get the screen your getting.
