It was basically abandoned, and put in archive mode in the final moot years, and then by the time he was out, they figured there was nothing really worth preserving there besides random ancient shitposts that were still up and they just deleted the whole thing before hiro came. Even the supposed "text only board" /news/ is basically another image board with minimal image posting.
