[sound] Experimental board ideas [voice] (5)

I am currently developing a board where people can only post using their voice. It has threads; short of replying to someone by recording a new audio clip, you can also engage with a post by clicking a +1 button.

What would be some good ideas for things to add to a board like this? Someone suggested having the server grab the meta tags from mp3 files; someone else suggested waveforms / spectrum analysis. There is a built in playlist tool which can be looped or shuffled for all the posts on a page, and there's views for recent posts and top posts.

Tanami (mr_vile) is also working on a board like this. It will be interesting to see which soundboard is more successful, if any.

2GET in a tokiko thread

You could have a post form that, when submitted, converts the text into tts (preferably yukkuri marisa) via aquestalk.

Critical thinking time: Why would someone visiting a board centered around voice posting want to listen to TTS slop mixed in with earnest humans speaking?

TTS / AI-generated audio will be banned site-wide. You can just visit existing text-based forums like this one and turn on a TTS if you want to listen to the computer talking.

You can't expect everyone to be comfortable with offering their voices to the board. There's no problem with human voices at all, but it will eventually wear down the anonymity
of the board as users will associate certain voices with certain posts. Yukkuri voices might also offer users who have their voices known a way of anonymity if they wish to make
a post that can't be tied to them. I do agree that AI audio should be prohibited, though I don't really know what that would sound like. A voice changer should also be considered
to offer more anonymity for those that desire it.

What kind of culture are you envisioning for a board like that, and who exactly is your target audience? Like >>4 said it will be hard to maintain anonymity if the userbase is small and TTS is banned but my primary inquiry is how you expect for a bunch of socially awkward otaku to record their voices and share them for the world to see. I'm sure that there will be exceptions but I feel like the majority of people using textboards and imageboards do so because they wish to communicate using... you know.. text and images. Of course this isn't a concern if you wish for your board to be populated by normalfags, but I assume the opposite considering the fact that you elected to post this here.
