It's like a giant canvas of 250x250 tiles. To move around, you click and drag up, down, left and right. You can also zoom in and out via scrolling (scroll wheel or touchpad gestures).

What do you think?

Is it just personal websites? Neat.
I was pleasantly surprised to find on one of the sites an image of a dog smoking: https://gator.nekoweb.org/assets/by%20who/pagedolls/pipedog.png

I don't think a lot of the kids making these sites sites realize that they would actually be impossible to load on any PC from whatever year they think they're representing.

At least they don't have to know the pain of Internet Explorer. Cross-browser compatibility was a nightmare in that era.

Its not really about retro aesthetics. Its mostly about do-it-yourself websites.

A lot of them like to over express themselves, usually making a site to display their interests but pushing it in your face sometimes too.

11 Name: Nameless : 2026/01/13 09:14

Why don't we make a mega tile for world2channel with a big LOL PENIS?

12 Name: Nameless : 2026/01/13 09:16

Something like 4x3 tiles? No? wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

13 Name: Nameless : 2026/01/13 11:39

I wonder if it'll get censored. Has he posted any rules for what can and cannot be posted?

14 Name: Nameless : 2026/01/13 14:41

Maybe I should make my site sometime. It's been 13 years since I planned that

15 Name: Nameless : 2026/01/13 15:03

Strange to think that 13 years ago was 2013

it's statements like " we're as far from 2000 as it was from 1974" that really fuck with me because 74 looked so far when I was a kid in 00

There was such a large technological difference between 1974 and 2000, and between 2000 and 2026 there hasn't been near as much progress(probably subjective to some) in technology. All I can really say is that the resolution of monitors has improved and interenets are faster.

I agree. society itself changed a lot to accommodate internet but it wasn't as violent as going from nothing to 24/7 free porn
